An animated test for one of the species from my upcoming graphic novel. This is still a work in progress – nothing is finalized.
Note: the image below is an animated gif file. the animation will begin automatically, however it may take a minute or two before the animation begins and the loop is smooth.

I’ve also included a few individuals frames to give an idea of how the species might look in print.

I intended on adding/changing a few aspects of this drawing, but I have decided to move on to new work instead.

This image was drawn with Micron and Rotring Rapidograph pens and Prismacolor Markers, and measures 18 x 24.
Draft 02.0 – I actually prefer almost every aspect of this 15-25 minute thumbnail to the 100 (or so) hour finished drawing.

Draft 01.1 – Technically speaking there is one really small sketch that precedes this draft, but I never scanned it, and I am not sure of its locale.

Another little seen alternate version. This version of the trypdic has been colorized by Tonality Star.

Eight years ago Rebecca added Braquiaa (her fantasy alter-ego) into my picture. She’s had my back for years now. I love that woman.

From the archive. This version of Mystical Princess (1999) contains an extended lower section that I ended up cutting off. Until now, only a couple of people have seen it. Click here see the finalized version of the image.
