I recently took a break from working on my graphic novel to do a bunch of quick mini-drawings. This is the result. They were a lot of fun to do and I will eventually return to this exercise. I first have a couple of commissions that I need to complete in addition to finishing a few more works for ‘Echo Locations’. All of these will be for sale (I will be posting them throughout today and tomorrow) at Volution Gallery
Although I did plan for an eventful update to take place on 03.20.12 (the Equinox), I was unable to do so for my energies went towards WonderCon, my gallery, and well, life itself.
Despite not having the grandeur I was hoping for, I still do have a couple announcements that I would like to make. For starters, I have a launch date for my graphic novel. The first page of ‘Echo Locations’ will go online on 03.20.13. However, the first phase of the story really begins on 06.20.12. On that date I will begin weekly updates in the form of trading cards, one page short stories, and mini-posters. Most of the trading card will consist of an illustration and a mini-story. They will be available to view on the internet, and of course for purchase via individual cards, packs, or subscription (6-8 cards delivered in bi-monthly installments).
Trading card subscriptions will consist of 44 (or more) different cards that will be disbursed on a bi-monthly basis over a twelve month period beginning on June 20th 2012. The first series of cards will conclude on June 13th 2013. Head over to Volution Gallery for more information.
This past October I opened up Volution Gallery - a gallery, shop, and studio that in addition to my art will showcase other local and independent artists. I will update this post with more information about it real soon. For now check out the link above to see the new website.
This is the most complicated drawing doodle I’ve done in eight months!
Although honestly it wouldn’t have taking much to earn that title – for in that whole time I have only done 1-10 minute doodles (most of which exist on the back of mounted prints that I sold throughout the year).
I will soon write a post about what I instead spent my doing throughout 2011. It’s actually quite a big deal, for it may actually facilitate me being an artist who draws more than 2 or 3 times a year. I will also be selling these daily drawings as an additional way of funding future arts.
After months and months since their inception, ‘Echo Locations’ trading cards are finally coming out this week. The above card will be available this Sunday (Sept. 25) at Sac-Con (Sacramento’s comic toy anime show). Future cards in the series will come out at a rate of one or two per month. Current cards will always be free at events, my studio, or with any purchase. The back of most cards will contain a mini-story that will remain exclusive to the physical copy until the next card becomes available.

I recently put together an art book that collects almost sixty different works completed between 1999-2009. There are two different books available – a deluxe 80 page hard cover version ($40 plus shipping) and an abbreviated 48 page comic version ($12 plus shipping). Both are now available for purchase. Please contact me if you are interested. Shopping cart buttons coming soon.
Below is a digital representation of the comic version.
I did the cover artwork for the upcoming Pregnant album, “Life Hard: I Try”. This is my twelfth album cover and it’s one of my favorites artistically and musically speaking.
For those of you who are not aware, I ran a successful kickstarter campaign a few months back. In addition to receiving a book of my collected works, one of the rewards for backing the project, was an exclusive limited edition print of a drawing I made specifically for the kickstarter supporters. This is said drawing.

I currently have a show up at Magpie Caterers (Market and Cafe) located in Sacramento. I like the pictures alright, but the most fulfilling aspect of the show was by far the process itself. The entire show, from concept to print, was created in a one week time period – the most artistically productive (and sleep deprived) period I have had in over a decade. The show was also drawn in a new style, and marks the first occasion in which Rebecca Roehr was my creative consultant.
I have five additional shows (5 to 7 pieces each) planned out that I would like to do for Magpie. I’m hoping that I can find the time to do at least one of them.
